Support For Carers

Young People

If you are 5 – 24 years old and care for, or are affected by, a family member who has a physical or mental illness or misuses drugs or alcohol, you are a young carer.

Young carers might feel the need to keep an eye on the person they care for and worry about them when they are away from home.

Young carers do an amazing job and often feel very proud of the job they do. Our passionate young carers team support young people to reduce inappropriate or excessive caring and to ensure young carers have a chance to be children, first and foremost, by receiving opportunities to have a break from their caring roles, relax and make new friends, and successful transitions into adulthood.
