Information & Support

It is important for family carers to get the information they need to help maintain their own health and wellbeing alongside that of the person being cared for. Suffolk Family Carers provide information, advice, guidance and advocacy to adult carers across Suffolk.

Registering with us

When you call, we will ask you to register with us. This is so we can give you the best service we can.

Our Information Line

Our Information Line is the main way to access support for your caring role.

You will speak to one of our experienced Advisers who will have a conversation with you about your caring role and how it has affected you.

We will work alongside you so we can help you access the support you need to maintain your own wellbeing alongside that of the person you look after.

Carers Assessments

Carers Assessments are for adult family carers, caring for someone over the age of 18. You could be entitled to support if you met the eligibility criteria.

It is a chance for you to discuss your support needs and have this recorded with Adult Social Care. To access a Carers Assessment, please contact Social Care Services, Customer First team on 0808 8004005.

For more information, see the guide to carers assessments produced by Carers UK. Suffolk Family Carers are currently carrying out carers assessments on behalf of Suffolk County Council. If you would like us to carry out your Carers Assessment, please let Customer First know.
