{"id":5269,"date":"2021-06-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bpddev2.uk\/clients2023\/metro\/metros-eco-tool-launches-today-tracking-and-offsetting-your-carbon-emissions-within-the-supply-chain\/"},"modified":"2024-02-02T08:57:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T08:57:45","slug":"metros-eco-tool-launches-today-tracking-and-offsetting-your-carbon-emissions-within-the-supply-chain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bpddev2.uk\/clients2023\/metro\/news\/metros-eco-tool-launches-today-tracking-and-offsetting-your-carbon-emissions-within-the-supply-chain\/","title":{"rendered":"Metro\u2019s ECO tool launches today \u2013 tracking and offsetting your carbon emissions within the supply chain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The new MVT ECO module that is launched today, with selected customers, monitors the energy emissions, emission costs and CO2 equivalent emissions, of every consignment we move, by every mode, so that shippers can monitor and&nbsp;have the option to offset their CO2 emissions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a non-asset owning 3PL, 99% of our carbon footprint is generated by our customers\u2019&nbsp;shipments on planes, ships and trucks, that we do not own or operate, but this does not diminish our determination to be carbon neutral and support our customers\u2019&nbsp;in achieving the same ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By working with customers, suppliers and carrier partners we are measuring, reporting and offsetting emissions, to build greener supply chains that drive down CO2 and waste.\u00a0We forecast a swift uptake, and encourage this as soon as possible, and we will keep on launching new initiatives to ensure that we contribute to reduced climate change, intelligent freight movement and sustainable development in the future, for all the reasons that are now becoming critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MVT ECO module is a cloud-based, software-as-a-solution, that is available, free-of-charge, to all our shippers on their MVT dashboard, where they can view key eco statistics related to their movements, to see which areas will benefit most from&nbsp;emissions&nbsp;offsetting and where efforts can have the most impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure our customers can have confidence in the&nbsp;data,&nbsp;our free emissions reports have been verified and conform to EN16258 for the calculation and declaration of energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MVT ECO data hub&nbsp;consolidates emission data across all routes and transport modes and is accredited by Smart Freight Centre (SFC) with reporting methodology that is in conformance with the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are working with Comply Direct to help to source Verified Carbon Standard offsets and support a number of verified carbon offset projects including renewable energy and natural resource conservation, for customers wanting to offset the emissions associated with their shipments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/metro-40-environ-screen.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1955\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visit the MVT ECO portal web page<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OR<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Request a demo and see how easy ECO reporting is<\/strong> <br>In a one-on-one demo we show you how MVT ECO collates a customer\u2019s carbon emissions data across carriers, modes and origins, with click-through interrogation and simple summaries that can be used for reporting, sustainable supply chain planning and offsetting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new MVT ECO module that is launched today, with selected customers, monitors the energy emissions, emission costs and CO2 equivalent emissions, of every consignment we move, by every mode, so that shippers can monitor and&nbsp;have the option to offset their CO2 emissions.
